Podcasts have become a popular trend from last few years. Various platforms such as Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, etc. are offering a wide range of podcasts. These are on various topics like health, lifestyle, entertainment, technology, business, etc.
I have started listening podcasts from last year. It was the only reason which compelled me to install Spotify. I had to listen some podcasts related to technology. But, it was so fascinating that I explored lots of topics. And Books were one of those topics.
We bibliophiles love to discuss about the books, read or watch reviews. I discovered some of the awesome podcasts related to books that I started listening them regularly. Some of them discuss about a particular book or genre, some broadcasts author interviews and even provide short summaries of some books.
I have curated the list featuring my top 5 favourite podcasts in this post.
- Reading Women
This was the first podcast that I started listening. Reading Women organizes a year-long reading challenge in which the primary goal is to read women authors. I am also participating this year.
So, their podcasts also focus on books about women and women authors. They feature author interviews, discussion on a particular book or genre. They release a new episode every Wednesday. There is a theme for every month. I find these podcasts to be interesting as well quite enlightening. You can listen to them on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher and iTunes.
2. Bookmark This!
Bookmark This is a podcast produced by The Straits Times. This podcast mainly talks about the books which are in headlines and popular among readers. The podcasters are these two girls: Olivia Ho and Toh Wen Li. They even talk about various other bookish topics. Currently, there are just 14 episodes, but they are fun and interesting. You can listen to them on Spotify, Apple podcasts and Google Podcasts.
3. By the Book
By the Book is the most fun podcast. It is basically related to self-help books. Whenever we read a self-help book, we always wonder whether they are effective. In this podcast, the podcasters employs the things told in the books for few days as a part of an experiment. They want to check which is a perfect self-help book. So, this is not just a podcast, but a reality show as well. You can listen to it on Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and some other platforms.
4. The Quibbler: A Harry Potter Book Club
And here come a podcast for the Potterheads. This is a Harry Potter book club in which Heather Price-Wright and Alex Dalenberg discuss Harry Potter Series. It has started from the first book’s first chapter. Its such an amazing podcast. You can just listen and reminiscence when the first time you read Harry Potter or you can re-read and then listen each episode. It will be seriously fun. It is available on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Spotify and various other platforms.
5. 5 Minute Business Book Summaries
There are various business books and self-help books which are having valuable lessons for us. But many of us find it difficult to get through those books. So these podcasts provide you five minute summaries of famous business books. You can get the key points through these podcasts and if you want then you may or may not read the book. You can find it on Spotify, Podtail and other platforms.
That’s all for today. Have you listened any of these or other podcasts? Share some recommendations in the comments. What are your views about podcasts?

Yes. It’s really exhausting with lots of work.
I mostly listen to podcasts while doing cleaning or washing utensils.
You may try.
